Randy Krehbiel filed the Tulsa World report, which can be found here.
Bartlett leads Democratic contender Tom Adelson in the poll 40% to 32%. Independent candidate Mark Perkins received 14%
Krehbiel's report quotes SoonerPoll.com pollster Bill Shapard:
"Perkins is really not a factor..."The report continues:
"He's finding out what most independents find out in Oklahoma. They can either be a spoiler or have no impact.
"Many thought Perkins might hurt Bartlett's chances, but the biggest share of his support came from self-described moderates. Self-described conservatives, who made up more than half the sample, went for Bartlett 4-to-1.The report states that Perkins was pulling equally from Democrats and Republicans.
Results of Poll on Propositions:
Proposition 1 requires that the City Auditor be a CPA or a CIA. Really a no-brainer. Poll says 87% approve.
Proposition 2 Lengthens terms of city councilors and staggers the elections on a rolling timeline. This one is a silly idea and should go down. For the proposal is 40% and against is 51%. So it is somewhat close.
Proposition 3 requires city council approval of all settlements over $1 million. The poll says 73% for the proposition. I think this situation may rarely occur, and ultimately end up causing unnecessary political fallout. Instead of "hanging" one person out to dry, voters (and bloggers) can hang the Mayor and any offending city councilors out to dry. Legal counsel is capable of advising the mayor as to whether a settlement is appropriate. Its an executive branch decision, and belongs in the office of the Mayor. In such situations, the council will rightly rely on advice of counsel. That brings us back to square one.
City Auditor
This one is a a nail biter. Incumbent Phil Wood, and Republican Preston Doerflinger are neck and neck, 39% to 38% respectively, and 23% don't know, or are undecided.

Couldn't help but notice they chose not to include the Council race results. You can bet they took them, just not pleased with what they discovered.
There are factors which make this poll less than perfect, especially with regard to new and younger voters and undecideds.
Too soon to declare a winner.
